  About Participation

We welcome teachers from grade 5 - 12 with a strong interest in local and global environmental issues to participate with us in the GTP. Participation during the 1999-2000 program means that you are interested in linking your students with other students and teachers by means of various Internet tools. Teachers and students will benefit most from the GTP if they have access to a web browser and email. All communication in the GTP (except for one or two postal mailings) is done over the Internet.

The GTP curriculum is implemented in the classroom by making use of:

If you feel that you can make the following commitment, then we invite you to join the GTP. GTP Schools agree to:

1. Visit the GTP Website on a regular basis during times posted for the Projects.

2. Use the GTP Bulletin Boards on a regular basis so that other schools can benefit from your students ideas.

3. Use the GTP data bases to share monitoring data that your students collect locally. Work with your student analyzing and interpreting data that was collected locally and globally.

4. Help your students become citizen scientists by helping them learn understand how to monitor their own environment, and learn to take action to improve their environment.

5. Be a global thinker by participating in the GTP discussions and sharing of information about environmental conditions around the world.
